Aloha Surf School runs surfing lessons in the heart of the Burren in Fanore, Co. Clare. The surf school is located down at Fanore Beach and is only 1 hour from Galway City and an hour and a half or so from Limerick, on the coast road between Ballyvaughan and Doolin. For anyone that is coming to stay and wants to surf in the Doolin area, Fanore offers the closest surfing beach.

Fanore is aptly named. Fan Oir, meaning the golden slope in Irish, with it’s sprawling sand dunes covering the limestone pavements down to the sea.
Because of it’s relative remoteness from heavily populated centres, it does not enjoy the fame attached to less attractive, but better known places for surfing such as Lahinch, Bundoran or Strandhill. All the better for those who go there. Space, solitude and uncrowded waves make Fanore Beach the ideal location for learning to surf.

The area is also home to some of the best diving, fishing, hiking and rock climbing in Ireland.
